I was sat in a pub in Loughborough the other day looking at the poster on the side of the bar that was a memento of his retirement party from the Department of Stress and Trauma and thinking, not for the first or last time that the place was so dull nowadays without him...Rod Warnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14812717242954233213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14790591.post-70223396607798628592012-04-09T02:34:23.972-07:002012-04-09T02:34:23.972-07:00Dear All,

I know that I am extremely slow in passing my condolences.I have recently found pictures of him with me and my family in Fulham. He was a lodger with either my mum and dad or my gran who lived next door. It is ironic since these photos led me to trying to find his number to tell of my mothers passing.
He was a great man who I believe was partly to form my slightly zany view of the world. It was great that I did contact him some years ago and said I would call in whilst on one of my trips to Loogabrooga (as Loughborough is known by many). Sadly in the IT age meetings became more Skype than body and our meeting never happened.
All I can hope is that Merv and Mum are up to fun and games in the stage in the sky.
Tom Roberts - Wales formerly of FulhamAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15532701776596078932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14790591.post-10505403248003152252010-01-19T05:41:47.872-08:002010-01-19T05:41:47.872-08:00"Give me a Grand Master any day"

I'd rather have eulogies than Hymns anyway.

I've seen the will- all he stipulated was that the proceedings were held in the nearest Crem and that the Service should follow the book of common prayer (1662 edition)proceedings which Ian H says initially flummoxed the Parish Priest somewhat!Shadeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07777836927500400430noreply@blogger.com
